In all of my work thus far, I had come into rehearsal with some sense of what the finished product might look like (i.e a script, a text, a structure, etc). I was curious to see what would happen if rehearsal was used to develop the structure itself, rather than just fill it in. So, for this experiment, we started with absolutely nothing. Eventually we landed on a text by Allen Ginsberg as a starting point, and ended up with clowns, balloons, rubber chickens, and knives. Through this project I learned the importance of not rushing this kind of work - we spent two weeks putting this piece together, and had only just begun to find a structure by the time the project ended.

Performed in March of 2021 with Phillip Solheim and Jorge Cordova.
